    FRESHMEAT: One Week From Today

Once a year the Illustration and Cartooning students at SVA have a mini comics show, and every year it’s awesome. If you’re in the area, you should really check it out. It’s got great energy and you get a chance to meet a lot of very talented creators. I met 25 or so of them a few weekends ago when I did portfolio reviews for them, and there are some very promising students out there. This event always sneaks up on me, so I’m posting this so it won’t sneak up on you:

    Freshmeat 2007
    Thursday, April 19, 6 - 8pm
An annual mini-comic convention sponsored by the SVA club Cartoon Allies. Held this year in conjunction with the BFA Illustration and Cartooning Department exhibition, artists and writers from all areas of the College will sell their comics, books, artwork and other creations.

    Visual Arts Gallery
    601 West 26 Street, 15th floor
Free and open to the public.
