    2008 Diamond Retailer Summits Announced

Today Diamond Comics Distributors announced their 2008 Retailer Summits would be in Las Vegas, Nevada and Ft. Wayne, Indiana. The 2007 summits were Ft. Wayne and part of the Baltimore Comic Con. The summits serve as a state of the union for comics retailers and have become common place for big announcements, such as the unveiling of Diamond’s new point-of-sale system. It will be interesting to see how the affects the attendance of next year’s Baltimore con, which has been gaining steam the past few years.

“We’re excited about returning to Las Vegas for the first of this year’s Retailer Summits,” said Senior Marketing Manager – Trade Shows Phyllis Opolko. “Our last Summit in Vegas (in 2003) provided West Coast specialty storeowners a golden opportunity to attend the event, and we’re pleased to be coming back to Vegas in 2008. And, of course, we’ll also be back in Ft.Wayne as well, giving retailers the option of attending that conveniently located Summit, which will once again host The Alliance Open House.”
